Midday (Dhuhr) in Makkah comes about 27 minutes later than in Riyadh, because Makkah lies about 6.8 degrees further west. Both cities use the same clock time, and solar noon shifts by about 4 minutes for every degree of longitude.

Day length in Makkah changes through the year, from about 10 h 50 min in December to about 13 h 26 min in June. That is why Fajr, Sunrise and Maghrib move earlier or later across the seasons, and why fasting hours in Ramadan depend on the time of year. See the Ramadan calendar for Sehri and Iftar times.
